| Lumbre a band with a conjunto/tejano base does not limit them to one genre. Based out of Central Texas they truly reflect the heart of the state.
Lumbre is currently working on their second CD to be released in April 2005. Lumbre is thrilled to have received three nominations for their first CD entitled “Lumbre” from the Texas Talent Musicians Association otherwise known as Tejano Music Awards. The release of the first CD has brought new fans from all over the US; playing in Illinois, California, Colorado, and Las Vegas this fall. Lumbre did not wait for a record deal they funded the project themselves and it paid off. They are the only band nominated for a Tejano Music award as an independent artist. Lumbre is proud to represent towns like Killeen, Temple, and Waco. They strive for a better and stronger future for Tejano Music. Playing events like Tejano Fan Fair, Benefits, Ft. Hood Christmas Party, Brazos Summer Nights in Waco, and many other community events. Lumbre will never forget where they started or where they come from. Lumbre is made up of five members: Gerald, singer, comes from a military family with a strong country background. He was raised and still resides in Killeen. He brings life to the songs and fans have said he makes you feel like he is singing only for you. His immense kindness and caring personality shines through in every performance. Mario, accordion player and music composer, is the most passionate, artistic, and captivating young stars to hit the industry in years. He is musically talented beyond years and has a soul to match. Chris, drummer and singer, started playing at age seven with his dad’s band and blows everyone away with his singing voice. Thomas, guitar and bajo sexton player, with 30 plus years experience in the music business suffered an accident that prevented him from playing. Determined to return to the industry he fought to regain the ability to play and now has a successful career with Lumbre. Pedro self taught bass player, came from humble beginnings. He decided to follow in his grandfathers footsteps seeking a career in music. Now an intricate part of Lumbre he is the key to their unity and always fights for the integrity of the music. Lumbre continues to expand their talents and hopes to some day be known internationally. Their first CD put them on the map but they hope their second CD launches them world wide. |
